Onboarding - June 3, 2025 (4:00-5:00 CST) - Get to know the participants and what to expect

Part 1 - June 9, 10, & 11, 2025*

Part 2 - July 7, 8, & 9, 2025*

Group Meetings - 4 sessions of 2.5 hours each (options provided, June to October 2025)

  • Mornings - The foundation of EMDR Therapy

    Mornings of training offer lecture-style instruction to build a solid foundation in EMDR therapy. You'll be introduced to the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model, the 8 phases of EMDR therapy, and the 3-pronged approach focusing on past, present, and future. In Part 2, treatment planning expands to cover special topics, including anxiety, pain, addictions, and recent events.

    EMDR training manuals and slide decks are provided in PDF format via an online learning platform.

    Dr. Penner Hutton is a dynamic speaker who brings enthusiasm to EMDR therapy training, guiding participants with care and clarity.

    Afternoons - Activities to put learning into practice!

    Afternoons are dedicated live-instruction and activities in breakout rooms, where you’ll work in groups of 3 or 4 to engage in practical EMDR exercises and observe EMDR in action. You'll rotate through the roles of therapist, client, and observer to practice different aspects of the therapy.

    Faculty members (EMDRIA Consultants or Consultants-in-Training) will guide and support you throughout, ensuring a rich, hands-on experience.

    Small and large group debriefs, discussions, and Q&A sessions will further enrich your experience.

  • Small Group Meetings!

    This program includes 10 hours (4 meetings for 2.5 hours each) of small-group instructional sessions that support the application of core content covered during the didactic portion of EMDR Basic Training. Led by an EMDRIA-approved facilitator, these structured sessions provide participants with opportunities to review core content, discuss EMDR procedures, examine clinical case material, and engage in guided feedback to support the effective and appropriate use of EMDR therapy in clinical practice.

    One meeting between Parts 1 & 2 (2.5 hrs)

    Three meetings following Part 2 (2.5 hrs each)

    Options for group meeting dates will be provided after registration is completed and range from the week of June 23 to October.

    • Windows/Mac: OS 10+, Intel Core i3+, 4 GB RAM, 1.5 Mbps for HD video

    • Mobile (iOS/Android): iOS 12.0+, Android 5.0+, 3G+ speed

    • Browser: Chrome 61+, Firefox 56+, Safari 11+, Edge

    • Internet Connection: Stable connection with at least 500 kbps for video streaming

    • For audio/video: Microphone & webcam required.

This training offers in-person training to a small group. If demand exists, the option for a hybrid training (with both in-person and online participants) will be offered.
